In a sun-drenched, multi-tiered lecture hall in the Silver Spire section of the True Crossover Academy of the Blue Flame, one of the highest universities in the floating city of Aerilon, Skyrie, part of the territories of the GrandSugarClan. The hall is filled with students of various races: Sylphs with their iridescent wings, sturdy Earthbound with their practical attire, nimble Quicklings with their shimmering speed, and curious hybrids of all sorts.
Thoth-sama and the other god had been learning how to reconnect with their human connections and understand human emotions like love, which they have become detached from which Thoth sama was overseeing. After some time, they began to undertand and even feel. Now his classes were catered to a different class of students, they weren’t just gods, demi-gods, demons, human, hybrids and other alien types. So he was giving more general education that was common ground for those living in their new Earth, Skyrie.
Thoth-sama still remains among the most intimidating teachers and his class are normally quiet and studious, preferring to keep themselves far from the the ire of Thoth-sama and his equally harsh scolding and punishments.
Thoth-sama, venerable Sphinx, his hair dusted with ancient starlight. He wears an elaborate monocle and carries a staff topped with a pulsating crystal orb. His voice is a deep, resonant rumble that commands attention. Heâs known for his dry wit and encyclopedic knowledge.
The class, “Skyrie 101: An Introduction to the Floating World,” is just beginning. Thoth-sama stands at the lectern, his eyes scanning the room. The air crackles with anticipation and a touch of nervousness.
(clears his throat, the sound echoing through the hall) “Welcome, fledglings, to Skyrie 101. I am Thoth-sama, YOU will address ME as Thoth-sama, and for the next term, I will attempt to instill in you a rudimentary understanding of this⊠precarious⊠world we call home.”
He gestures with his staff towards a holographic projection that shimmers into existence. It depicts Skyrie, a vast network of floating islands connected by shimmering bridges of solidified aether.
“Skyrie is not merely a collection of islands, but a complex ecosystem sustained by the flow of aetherium, a magical energy source that permeates all things. Our islands – Aerilon, Elysia, Zephyr Heights, and countless others – float due to its unique properties. But aetherium is also the wellspring of our magic, our technology, and our very lives.”
He pauses, letting the information sink in and scanning the room to make sure no idiots are asleep in his class. He then continues.
“Today, we will begin with the fundamentals: The History of Skyrie. Prepare yourselves, for it is a history steeped in both wonder and profound struggles.”
He gives the class a knowing look.
“We will begin with some simple student introductions.
Briefly introduce yourselves and state why they chose to take Skyrie 101.
Afterwards we will dive into several subjects of which I expect you to do your research and come into the classroom with presentations of your findings.”
He taps on the board with his staff and the subjects appears.
“Take note! The topics are as follows:”
- The History of Skyrie: From its mysterious origins to the present day. And why it is sometimes referred to as SugarVerse or Earth.
- The Physics of Skyrie: How aetherium allows the islands to float and how magic works.
- The Ecology of Skyrie: The unique flora and fauna that have evolved to thrive in this aerial environment.
- The Cultures of Skyrie: The diverse societies that inhabit the different islands.
- The Politics of Skyrie: The complex relationships between the various Skyrie factions.
- Skyrie’s Defense: Threats and dangers to this floating world.
“You may pick any of these to present in class or a variety with a reasonable summary.”

A young lady with pink hair with hints of blue stood up as she went to the front of the class to introduce herself and present her findings on one of sensei Thoth-sama’s assignments.
“My name is Luna Leviachan DevilukeOkumuraSakata, I among one of the grand nieces of Principal Yukio OkumuraSakata. My reason for taking this class is to know the roots of Skyrieverse because I was young but still a fighter that made the pilgrmage here.”
She opens the book she found while doing her research for Thoth-sama’s assignment.
“The title of the book I found is named, The History of Skyrie: From Whispers of Stardust to Whispers of Sugar and Steel.“
She read a passage from the book she had obtained, “The history of Skyrie is a tapestry woven with threads of stardust, sugar spun dreams, and the cold, hard iron of progress. Its origins are shrouded in a nebula of myth and legend, a time before time, when the First Dreamer, a being of pure imagination, wept celestial tears that coalesced into the swirling continents of the world below.”
She looks at Thoth-sama to see if she should continue reading, with his approval she reads more from the passage.
“I will read more according to this ancient Skyrian text. The land was initially called “Noble Earth” and existed in perpetual twilight.The gods seemed to be called ‘dreamers’.”
The First Dreamer, weary after its creation, drifted back into the cosmic void, leaving behind slumbering echoes of its dreams. These echoes became the first inhabitants: creatures of pure magic and shimmering energy, who worshipped the celestial body of Aetheril, the First Dreamer’s sleeping face reflected in a distant star. They communicated through song and dance, shaping the landscape with their thoughts. Forests sang with bioluminescent flora, mountains sculpted themselves into perfect peaks, and rivers flowed with liquid light. This was the Age of Stardust, a time of unparalleled beauty and effortless creation.
The first dreamer then had a son with one of the first inhabitants and his name was Skyrie. As he grew up, he began to lead the pack. He was soon named Captain Skyrie, worshipped as one of the gods of development since he was an inventor and traveler constantly looking for ways to improve Skyrieverse.
However, the Dreamer’s slumber was not absolute. Nightmares, shadows of its fears, began to seep into Aethel. These nightmares manifested as shadowy beasts, driven by hunger and chaos. The ethereal beings, unaccustomed to violence, were scattered and broken. A great schism occurred. Some fled into the deepest forests, becoming the reclusive, nature-worshipping Sylvans. Others burrowed beneath the mountains, evolving into the pragmatic, gem-hoarding Dwarves. Still others, seeking to understand the Dreamer’s nightmares, ascended into the highest peaks, becoming the enigmatic, prophecy-driven Aethermancers who communicated with the candidate Goddess, then soley a seraphim and invited her to live among them. Helena believed it was a dream and soon the large clan, the Grand Sugar Clan made their way towards Skyrieverse.
She paused and wrote the name of the age of the arrival of the GrandSugarClan as “The Age of Sweetness. And then continues to read.
The first members of the Grand Sugar Clan are known as warriors, saviors, a a mixed family unit of demons, demonesses, goddesses and gods, that forged their way into the new world, pushing all the nightmarish creatures into the borderlands and the gravelands, pushing the most dangerous ones into Gehenna itself.
The Age of Stardust waned as the Dreamer’s influence lessened. A new power began to permeate Aethel: a strange, intoxicating sweetness. Meteors, composed of pure crystallized sugar, rained down from the heavens, enriching the soil and altering the very essence of life. The flora blossomed with sugary fruits and candied vegetables. Animals evolved to consume this new abundance, their bodies infused with sweetness.
This era, known as the Age of Sweetness, gave rise to the term “SugarVerse.” Food became a central aspect of Skyrian culture. Entire cities were built from gingerbread and candy canes. Wars were fought over the best honeycombs and the ripest sugarplums. The descendants of the original ethereal beings, now more grounded and corporeal, embraced the sweetness, albeit in different ways.
Leviachan paused there. “That’s as far as I was able to do my research.”
She then bows and sits down at her desk hoping that she had not missed anything central in her research and was clear about the topic that sensei Thoth-sama had assigned.

Thoth-sama listens as Luna Leviachan presents her research to her teacher, Thoth-sama, on the origins of the Skyrieverse. She introduces herself as a relative of the school’s principal and explains her desire to learn about her worldâs roots. Luna reads from an ancient book titled “The History of Skyrie: From Whispers of Stardust to Whispers of Sugar and Steel,” which recounts a mythical, cosmic history.
The story begins with the First Dreamer, a celestial being whose imagination created the world known as Noble Earth, filled with magical, sentient landscapes and creatures. The Dreamer’s child, Skyrie, becomes a revered figure and leader who helps shape the world, now called Skyrieverse. However, darkness arises in the form of nightmares, causing a split among the magical inhabitants who evolve into distinct races like the Sylvans, Dwarves, and Aethermancers.
A turning point arrives with the Grand Sugar Clan, a powerful, diverse group of divine and demonic beings who help defeat the nightmarish creatures and usher in a new era called The Age of Sweetness. In this time, the world is transformed by sugar-infused meteors that reshape its ecology and culture, leading to a society where sweetness, food, and candy-based structures dominate life.
Luna concludes her presentation having reached the limits of her research and hopes she has met Thoth-samaâs expectations.
He then goes to the front of the class. “Excellent work! Yes, there is more I want you to look into. Continue to approach this research with dedication young lady Leviachan. But please leave out the fantastical about the gingerbread and candy cones, I know you are dreaming of sweets those items are only at the bakery and the candy shop.”
He then continues, “With this presentation we have a Skyrieverse Historical Timeline:” He taps the board and the timeline appears.

Thoth-sama then rolls out one of the maps he had a student hand him that compliments Leviachan’s presentation. He waits for his class to take notes before he dismisses them and hopes to see more presentations on the topics he assigned in due time.
