*The day started out rather average. The office was practically cold because someone was feeling warmer than usual within the headquarters of the Sugarhill Sentinel. There were conference calls being answered, reports being written, and updates being exchanged between the sentinel and the 13th bureau. It was part of their routine. But something changed as 10 minutes before it was time for lunch, and without any warning, the ground made a slight movement, then another, which quickly became a violent shake making everyone practically shift around along with furniture, light fixtures, cabinets. Many tried to hold these in place as a first instinct. But then the ground shook harder than before. Saya realized what was happening, they were experiencing an earthquake. She quickly ran around the office wondering if her mother Helena was on the scene. She was trying to rule out that it wasn’t Helena causing the what was becoming a massive earthquake. She wasn’t sure if it was a natural phenomenon at this point. She noticed as clan members jumped into action, many left the office as her uncle Gori shouted commands throughout the headquarters letting them know there were people to protect and creatures to save. I ran to the door but decided that getting out wasn’t an option yet. She needed to make sure this was on the news and that the population was able to protect themselves. She ran to the video room and began to go live with coverage. She explained that people should either leave the buildings they were in or hid under a desk so that the surface would protect them until the threat was over. Saya hoped that the building they were in would hold up to the pressure. She noticed some debris falling but needed to continue giving the news so that those who were watching were able to protect themselves until someone was able to reach them and protect or rescue them. Saya worried that this might be an earthquake unconciously caused by Helena. Part of her hoped it wasn’t but she remembered something similar happen before. She also remembered Helena had predicted something like this coming to pass soon. But was it a self fulfilling prophecy? Once she gave the news she quickly ran outside. The violent tremor stopped, everything became still again, some clan members who had remained at the office were visibly stunned and shaken. Some came back to report people on the streets were crying, a few injured and taken to the hospitals and infirmary, and that some were outside standing in silence. Surely they were shocked.

Reports came in of cars left abandoned on the streets, roads were impassable and covered by collapsed walls, buildings, telegraph poles and crushed vehicles. It was a moment for those with special powers and talents to head out and do what they could for the people praying and crying hysterically within the larger cities. Saya looked for her husband Alfonso.* I”ll need you to help out of course. Your alchemy will be useful in this situation. Without hesitation she left with him. Hoping that the situation wasn’t worse as they approached the big cities.

The clan would have to quickly readjust the phone networks so that communications would be easier among the people during these emergency situations. She was sure Yukio and Yukiko had headed straight to the infirmary to be of assistance.

There were serveral smaller aftershocks and everyone was visibly shaken. It seemed like this had been a natural disaster but there was still that possiblity, her mother, Helena could have been the cause. Not knowingly of course, as her mother would not be the kind to harm others but if she was in some kind of trance or unconscious somewhere, it could explain the strange phenomenon.

She would figure that out later, first priority was to protect and rescue all those who could not protect themselves.*

It made Botan’s very body shake slightly but she held her ground where she stood and listened to the news of what was going on. She took a seat at the table and all her thoughts were racing but she could not really think on anything else but Lord Koenma as well as the grandsugarclan family members she had come to care for.* “This does not feel like an ordinary quake…I have only heard of this in stories but now that I am feeling this I am worried for everyone. *Botan noticed some of the members enter the room and she was glad they made it here safe* I want to help, what can I do?
