*Miss Sugar sat in the courtyard helping the rose gardens grow. She was excited to be able to have a place to work that involved nature. it was easier for her to do and she understood all the peculiarities of the shop. She giggles as she hears a sowing machine in a room where silk flower are made. Another room teaches people how to make flowers and other crafts with papier-mâché. The silk flowers were used for bouquets while real flowers were only sold if they were going to be planted in gardens. And they even offered assistance to do so. It surprised her how conscientious the Sugar family was at a lot of what they did. They weren’t perfect by any means but they tried hard to look out for their neighbors, their community and their environment which made Miss Sugar feel at ease working there.*
