It’s a sunny morning at the Sacred Flame Institute Sugarlabs, a family practice run by Ali and various members of the GrandSugarClan. The institute is a unique blend of traditional medicine, magic, and scientific research, where the family uses their expertise to treat a wide range of illnesses and injuries, both mundane and magical.

Today she brings her two daughters, Ecko and Damiana in to work on a project. As you she enter the cozy laboratory, she is greeted by the warm glow of candles and the sweet scent of simmering potions. Ali, a wise and experienced alchemist, stands at a wooden workbench, carefully measuring out ingredients for a new experiment. Her daughters, Ecko and Damiana, sit at a nearby table, poring over ancient tomes and making notes in their journals. Ali chose the older part of the building, which she loved, because of its traditional feel.

Damiana, the elder of the two sisters, is a skilled herbalist with a deep understanding of magical plants and their properties. She’s currently studying a rare and mysterious flower, said to have the power to enhance the effects of any potion. Ecko, on the other hand, is a talented young scientist, with a passion for combining magic and technology to create innovative remedies.

Ali turns and looks at her daughters, “We’re about to start a new project, and I could use an extra pair of hands. We’ve received a request from Doctor Yukii, who’s struggling to treat a patient with a rare and mysterious illness. The symptoms are unlike anything we’ve seen before, and I’m hoping to create a custom elixir to help the patient recover.”

Ecko and Damiana look up from their studies, eager to begin the challenge. “We’ve been researching the patient’s symptoms,” Damiana explains, “and we think we’ve identified a few key ingredients that could help. But we need to experiment and refine the recipe before we can administer it to the patient.”

Ecko nods in agreement. “And that’s where you come in”. They look over at Sonar who had walked in after being called over by Ali. “We could use your help to test and refine the elixir. Are you ready to get started?”

This section of the laboratory is filled with all sorts of strange and exotic ingredients, from glowing mushrooms to rare, magical minerals. There are also various pieces of equipment, including a large, stone mortar and pestle, a collection of glass beakers and flasks, and a strange, glowing device that appears to be a cross between a microscope and a crystal ball. Sonar normally works in the modern section of the SugarLabs so this looks unfamiliar to him.

This wasn’t the first time Ali had her daughters work on elixers. Ali started her daughters by having them make a simple restorative elixir. It was the first one Ali had taught them how to make. They would be ready to try a more difficult elixir soon. Once they learned the basics, Ali would continue to teach them how to make the anti-magic one next. The last one she would teach them would be how to make a painkiller elixir, one of the hardest ones to make because it was so strong.

Ecko and Damiana were working on grinding up the ingredients while Ali made the base for the elixir. They had made a few different restorative elixirs. This one was designed to help someone feel better when they had a cold or the flu. The restorative elixir for regular healing, to heal broken bones or other injuries, was much different. The ingredients were different, and the instructions for making it were also different.

Sonar normally gathered the materials and ingredients they needed from outside the lab and he was also great at gathering, recording and organizing data.

Once they build up their elixer, they would begin to use the modern area of the lab to make sure it was safe to test on Sonar, and then the procedures and tests would begin until they found the ideal ingredients to make more and be able to hand them over to Dr. Yukii for use.
