Helly, a fiery and fiercely loyal hellhound from Gehenna, serves as one of the elite guardians of Gehenna’s Gates. Handpicked by Lord Satan himself, she also watches over the deceptively cheerful yet perilous domain known as the Sugar Maze—Satan’s Labyrinth. Recently, Helly has sensed a shift in the cosmic balance. Lady Helena, a radiant and compassionate seraphim, has ascended to the heavens, stepping into her destined role as a candidate goddess. Meanwhile, turmoil brews below: Lord Satan now faces a challenge from his two brothers—Lord Lucifer and Lord Belial—who believe his rule has upset the delicate balance of power in Gehenna. Caught between celestial ascension and infernal conflict, Helly grows anxious. She fears losing the freedom she’s enjoyed in the mortal realm and wonders whether her fate, like the heavens and hell, is about to be reshaped.
Helly paces nervously before the shimmering entrance to the Sugar Maze. The air thrums unsettlingly. She sniffs, her nostrils flaring, picking up the metallic tang of spilled blood and the acrid scent of ozone.
Helly: (Muttering to herself) Gods below… Something’s not right. This… this feels different.
(She glances upwards, as if trying to pierce the moon above. A faint, almost imperceptible ray of pure, celestial light briefly breaches the darkness before being swallowed again.)
Helly: That light… Lady Helena. So she finally ascended. Good for her. But… (She clenches a fist, her claws extending slightly) What does it mean for us? For me?
(Suddenly, the ground trembles. The braziers around her flare violently, casting grotesque shadows. Three voices, each resonating with immense power, echo around her.)
(Lord Satan) Helly! Report! What is your assessment of the dimensional disturbances?
Helly: (Snapping to attention, dropping into a formal posture) Lord Satan! I sense… instability, my Lord. A celestial presence above, and an undercurrent of… disharmony… here. The air crackles with it.
(Helly senses that Lord Lucifer and Lord Belial are listening to her conversation with Lord Satan openly. Lor Lucifer didn’t like that she implied that there is disharmony.)
Helly: (Swallowing nervously) My Lords… I… I only sense what I sense.
(Lord Satan – a sharp edge entering his tone) Silence! Helly, your loyalty is to me. Is it not?
Helly: (Her voice firm, but with a quiver of fear deep inside) Undeniably, Lord Satan. I am yours to command.
(Lord Lucifer) Such devotion. Tell me, little Hellhound, do you enjoy your freedom? Your… excursions to the mortal realm? Such a delightful perk for one so… steadfast.
(Helly tenses, her eyes narrowing. She understands the veiled threat.)
Helly: I serve Gehenna best where I am placed, My Lord. I uphold the orders of Lord Satan to the best of my capability.
(Lord Belial– commanding her with a resounding roar) Return to Gehenna at once!
(The pressure in the air intensifies, then abruptly vanishes. The braziers return to their normal flicker. Helly is left alone, the silence amplifying her anxiety. The only change is with the Sugar Maze itself, the sweet candy-like scent is now replaced with an acrid, burning scent.)
Helly: (Under her breath, scratching her head) Opportunistic changes? What in the deepest pits does that mean? Isn’t Lord Lucifer married to Seraphim Goddess Helena? And… they are making a big deal out of my excursions?
(She looks at the Sugar Maze with trepidation. Her hand goes to the hilt of the ceremonial dagger she carries, a weapon made of hardened shadow and infused with hellfire.)
Helly: Right… Return to Gehenna! But what if they want to strip me of my freedom because of this spat between them? And why have they summoned me?
(The light from Sugar Maze begins to flicker. Helly makes her way to Gehenna filled with anxiety.) @kuroyassha @shiroyassha @goldsugardemonkin @sweetsugardemon
