Aureolin paused for a moment, hesitating to speak about her own life. “As for my time as a housemaid…well, I..served as the sole housemaid to an infamous master swordsman better known as the Beast of Blades. As a warrior, he was unparalled and undefeated. As a person, he was…unusual. He lived to fight, but would not fight just anyone. Only those who were as strong or possibly stronger than him were worthy targets. He dedicated all of his time to mastering his weapon, and was not a talker. In all honesty, I still know nearly nothing about him or any of his family. He wouldn’t even speak to me very often, just occasionally to ask minor tasks of me, and on rare occasions, how my swordwork was coming along. Most of the time, I did housework on my own accord. At that time, I was absolutely head over heels for my lord and would do anything just to be near him. It was the only reason I ever agreed to serve him.”

Aureolin thought for a second about how to answer Celest. “Living as a human isn’t drastically different from being an angel. Humans see Heaven as the perfect post-death paradise, but I think it is more like the better sequel to life on Earth. Wars that plague Heaven and Hell have even greater reach in the human world, as fighting continues nonstop there. Humans do have their share of kindhearted, selfless, and trsutworthy people, alongside their cruel, corrupt, and greedy brethren. Both worlds have those who would gain where others suffer loss. In a general sense, the human world has more strife, but also that many more life experiences to learn from. I hope that makes some kind of sense.”

“Ah, thank you.” Aureolin said, laying the harp in her lap. “I think I learned as a child, because I’ve known how to play this for as long as I can remember. During my time as a housemaid, I played for my lord rather often. But during my service in the Angel Army prevented me from playing at the time.”

“Oh, alright. I’ll admit that was a huge leap.” Aureolin said, before taking a seat in one of the rooms. “I’m going to relax for the remainder of this day, and now that I have the time to, I can even play my harp.” She then reached into her satchel and pulled from it a bow harp, and began tuning it. “Bear with me. I’m rusty, so it’ll probably sound off-key.”

After she finished tuning, she slowly began plucking the harp’s strings, gradually picking up speed as she remebered how to play.

“You know, I’m amazed. I think we’ve made a lot of progress together in our objective to establish a foundation of peace.” Aureolin said proudly. “We were able to work together to find food and make a shelter without a problem! Our ideals might clash on some things, but so far it hasn’t caused any real problems. I know it’s only been the first day, but I hope that we’re able to put a stop to this great war once and for all.”

Aureolin stook up and stretched, revealing a nearly 9-foot wingspan. “Ahhh. I appreciate the kindness, Celest. I would continue to listen to this conversation, but I am very curious about the house. I’m going to look inside.” she said before walking towards the house Celest assembled.

“Inexperienced…hm.” Aureolin said, finishing off the last kabob. “I do hope my time here changes that. I know some measure of optimism is important, but I won’t become a pollyanna. I just want to help as much as possible.”

“Guys, please don’t do this.” Aureolin said, turning towards Caligula. “You don’t have to be an experienced fighter or have incredible magic to be useful. We’re in a situation where combat ability is not the core value, but rather our ability to put our strengths together. Everybody’s strength is useful, no matter the amount. So do not call yourself useless.”
She then turned to face Celest. “Yeah, a lived a human life before and I have a halo, but I’m not exactly what an angel should be either, because I didn’t even live to see 40 years in my human life. I’m considered young for an angel, and on occasion I am pitied or ridiculed for having my human life cut short.”
Aureolin glanced back at her food and removed it from the fire.
“Even after human life, nobody is perfect. But at least love who you are.” she said before starting to eat.

Aureolin smiled while holding the kabobs over the fire. “The thought of asking you did cross my mind for a second, but you did expend a lot of power in constructing the house. Even if the pots are small things, they can wait until tomorrow. Let’s just try to relax now, because I’m tired myself. With these limiters, I’m not as strong and swinging my sword is more difficult and tiring.”

<p style=”line-height: 24px;”>”Fine by me.” Aureolin answered, examining the kabob she was holding before lowering it back into the flame. “Unfortunately, without pots, pans, spices or any kind of seasoning, cooking is less exciting.”

<p style=”line-height: 24px;”>Again, Aureolin took the food from the fire, but this time took a bite of it.

<p style=”line-height: 24px;”>”This is fine.” She said, before picking up two more kabobs to cook.

“I can assist with cooking. I find it really fun!” Aureolin said, with an excited tone. “Pass some of those skewers over and I’ll cook them.” She continued, before taking one of the shish kabobs from Jaya and carefully holding it in the fire.

Aureolin turned to the demons and put her hands together. “Nice to see you demons again. Looks like your search for food was rather fruitful, no pun intended.” she said, eyeing the fruits in Caligula’s hands.

“Wow, that had to have taken a lot of power to do. Your entire appearnce changed!” Aureolin said to Celest. Hearing the voices of the two demons, she turned to face them. “Looks like our demon comrades have come back, with a very impressive haul.”

Aureolin tossed one last stick into the pile of material. “I guess since Celest is just standing there, this is enough to put together a house. But…she looks upset again. I would ask what ‘s wrong, but I don’t want to pry.” she thought, sliding her sword back into her satchel.
