The classroom was steeped in shadows, the only illumination coming from the glowing sigils that pulsed across the domed ceiling, tracing the moon’s phases in soft silver light. Each mural on the dark stone walls shimmered with faint, enchanted movement, showing lunar cycles from ancient cultures.

At the eastern wall, an arched window overlooked the night sky, where the Black Moon hung like a sacred secret—*invisible*, but unmistakably felt.

Luna Leviachan, draped in a flowing robe of pink and obsidian silk, sat cross-legged upon a crescent-shaped cushion of starlight velvet. Beside her, her daughter, Sugar Moon Asmodea, radiant in her dark charm and uncontainable presence, leaned close, flipping open the Pagan Grimoire that hummed with ancestral energy. Candlelight danced between them like spirits listening in.

    Luna Leviachan:

*softly, placing a gloved hand on the ancient page.*

“You feel that, don’t you, my little moonbeam? That hush in the air? That thick velvet weight pressing against your skin?”

*She smiles, eyes gleaming like pearls soaked in starlight.*

“That’s her. The Black Moon. She doesn’t shine… she absorbs. She listens. She waits. And she teaches. Not with light—but with shadow.”

    Sugar Moon Asmodea:

*frowning slightly, brows furrowed as she traces a sigil with a clawed fingertip.*

“So… if we can’t see her, how do we know she’s even there? That’s kind of annoying. Why would a moon with power hide herself?”

*Pauses, tilts her head like a curious cat.*

“Is she scared? Or is it… a trick?”

    Luna Leviachan:

*chuckling warmly, cupping her daughter’s cheek.*

“She’s not hiding, baby. She’s revealing—just not to the eyes. She reveals through **feeling**, through the whispers in our dreams, the tension in our chest, the thoughts that bubble up when it’s too quiet.”

*Luna leans in, her voice more reverent now.*

“The Black Moon is the **womb of transformation**. The space between death and rebirth. A cosmic void where we release, reset, and **remember who we are becoming.**”

    *She taps the Grimoire gently.*

“It’s where *we* go to **shed** all the gunk—fears, old patterns, pain we never spoke aloud. It’s where **dedicated witches** do their most sacred work.”

    Sugar:

*crossing her arms but listening intently*

“Shadow work. You’ve mentioned that before. Like… the stuff we don’t want to look at. Right?”

    *Eyes narrowing.*

“But what if I don’t want to let go of some things? Even if they *do* hurt. They make me strong. Or they used to…”

    Leviachan:

*smiling, then gently brushing a strand of Sugar’s hair back.*

“You don’t have to let go all at once, Sugar Moon. That’s not what this is about. Shadow work isn’t cutting things off—it’s looking them in the eyes. Even the ugly parts. Even the things we buried so deep we forgot we were still bleeding.”

*She opens a silk pouch and places a black obsidian mirror between them.*

“Tonight, we honor the pain that shaped us… but we choose not to be ruled by it.”

*Her voice softens, more maternal than teacher now.*

“You’re powerful. Beyond what even you know. But real power doesn’t come from control, baby—it comes from **awareness**.”

    Sugar:

    *gaze softening, but still stubborn.*

“Okay… but if this is so powerful, why don’t they teach this to everyone at the Academy? Why only us… in secret?”

    Leviachan:

*with a glint of mischief and grace.*

“Because, my little Luna Hime… not everyone is **meant** to hold this kind of power. Some are afraid of the dark. They look for light only—forgetting it’s in the darkness that stars are born.”

*She leans close, forehead touching Sugar’s*

“You and I? We are **children of the flame**, yes—but we are also daughters of the moon. And **this** moon? The **Black Moon**? Among others, is ours. Just like Hekate’s crossroads, it’s a sacred meeting point between past and future… a place only the brave enter.”

    **They Begin the Ritual**

*Luna takes Sugar’s hand, guiding her in drawing the sacred triple spiral with moonwater on the floor. The Grimoire pages glow faintly as they chant together*

“By the hidden face of the moon…

We cast off the chains unseen,

    We embrace the shadow within,

We burn, we rise, we dream…”

*Sugar’s voice grows stronger with each word, her eyes deepening with understanding. Around them, the classroom flickers with ancient energy. The window shimmers—the Black Moon’s pull growing stronger.*

    Sugar:

    *(quietly, after a pause)*

“…Mommy? Does the Black Moon ever… get lonely? Since she’s always in the dark?

    Leviachan:

*pulls her close into a gentle embrace.*

“Sometimes… But that’s why we’re here. To remind her—and ourselves—that even in darkness… we are never truly alone.”

*The candle flames flicker in reverent silence, as mother and daughter sit wrapped in one another’s warmth. The sigils on the walls hum with resonance, echoing the balance now struck between them—a bond renewed in shadow, sealed by ancient light.

Above them, unseen in the sky, the **Black Moon** listens… and blesses.*

(softly, her horns glimmering under the moonlight)*

“Mommy Lala, I remember when you first showed me this ritual… I didn’t understand then how powerful intention could be.”

  • *Leviachan had only recently heard about this hidden gem. She made her way past the Asian Markets at XianXia , looking a bit out of place with her devilish features and vibrant pink hair but she didn’t let that stop her. She went over to the place where the music was gently dancing with the leaves.* Here it is! *She stands still for a moment taken in the sounds then continues towards the place so she can go inside and explore, then find a seat and simply listen and enjoy.*

Sunlight streams through a large, arched window overlooking the manicured lawns of the campus. Inside, the air smells of old paper and leather.

Leviachan, a student known for her bubbly and cheerful intensity and rumored mastery of somewhat obscure magic. She’s currently engrossed in a large, leather-bound tome titled “Luna’s Embrace: A Compendium of Lunar Magick.” She has her eyes fixed on the book, suggesting very focused study. She’s wearing a silver crescent moon pendant hangs around her neck.

A group of students come into the library. A mix of personalities and experience levels. Perhaps a nervous first-year, a confident second-year, and a skeptical third-year. They are united by a common goal: to learn moon magick.

Leviachan sits bathed in the morning sunlight, her brow furrowed as she deciphers a particularly complex diagram in her book. The rhythmic turning of pages is the only sound in her corner of the library. The window behind her offers a picturesque view of students hurrying between classes, the rustling of leaves in the breeze, the overall vibrant energy of the campus. In stark contrast to this daytime activity, she is immersed in the secrets of the moon.

A small group of students approaches her table hesitantly. One, a young woman with wide, hopeful eyes, speaks first.

“Excuse me… are you Leviachan?” she asks, her voice barely a whisper. “We… we heard you were studying moon magick.”

The others murmur in agreement, shuffling their feet nervously. The second-year, a young man with a slightly arrogant air, speaks next.

“Yeah, we’ve been trying to learn it ourselves, but… it’s proving difficult. Very difficult. Some say you’re quite skilled.” He tries to sound casual, but there’s a hint of pleading in his voice.

The third-year, a skeptical girl with arms crossed, adds, “Honestly, I think it’s all a bunch of new age codswallop, but… well, my Professor said if anyone could make it work, it’d be you. So, here we are.”

They all fall silent, looking at Leviachan expectantly. Sunlight glints off the silver pendant at her throat as she looks up, her expression unreadable. She marks her page with a thin silver bookmark, closes the heavy tome with a soft thud, and regards them with a steady gaze. The sounds of the vibrant campus momentarily fade as the students await her response.

Leviachan takes a good look at them to meassure their seriousness on the subject. She could tell that through their seemingly arrogant way of asking for help, they were nervous and trying to save face. She wondered if they were somewhat afraid of her but they did have the courage to approach her. Her serious expression changed and a smile appeared on her face.

“I will help tutor you but, I will not be providing proof of moon magick to you. I will simply tutor you to the point that you can continue to study on your own. If you wish for proof, that comes with practicing the rituals and seeing for yourself. It may be that you are or are not a practitioner of magick and no one should be forced to believe in anything, knowledge, practice and experience will lead you there. So grab a seat, I’ll highlight key elements to study and then we will sit quietly to study. If you have questions, just write them down so that we do not disturb everyone else who is reading and studying in the library.”

There was relief in their faces as they eagerly grabbed their books, put down their bookbags and took advantage of this great opportunity. They were glad they had asked and each one briefly introduced themselves to her before they began their little study session.
