As it Ever Was

  • Tir Nan Og was a peaceful and safe place for all types of fairies. All fairies were petite in size. Some were able to use their magic to shift into human size or a size as big as a giant but this was always frowned upon because the fairies felt it was a misuse of their magic. There were also some hybrid fairies that pure fairies accepted but did not quite like such fusion and corrosion of their purity.

Hikari was one such fairy. Her mother took on the size of a human during the festival of Beltane. It was a time of celebration and most fairies would leave the safety of Tir Nan Og to go out in the world and have themselves a bit of a party.

Hikari’s mother was a beautiful fairy of long orange hair and very delicate features. She had gone off to visit a town she enjoyed and fell in love with a human who happened to be a knight of a kingdom. The brave warrior courted Hikari’s mother for a long time. Until one day she went back to the town and found he had been slain in battle. Hikari’s mother went into despair. The only thing holding her together was that she would soon give birth to a lovely young fairy girl.

Hikari was soon born, she was given a fairy name which Hikari never used. A fairy would always keep their real name hidden. She used aliases until she came across one that she loved. I shall call myself Hikari!! *she proclaimed as she got older.*

Her father’s blood made her the perfect candidate for the army of fairies in that kingdom. This allowed her to learn all the necessary combat skills that would be useful if the fairies would ever have to defend their territory.

To their misfortune, the land of eternal youth and purity did come under attack. On August 7th, when the land of fairies were revealed and all barriers were at their weakest, an attack from a dark force threatened to swallow up their lands.

The purest fairies had it the worse. Their immunity was not strong enough to be exposed to such a force and meanly learned what it meant to be sick, to grow old and to die at a rapid and unnatural rate.

The fairies who had mixed blood like Hikari did better, their bodies were stronger. Hikari made herself of human size so that she could fight along with several other fairies. This dark force was strong, it was violent and it was merciless. It came with an army of possessed troll who had never even thought of invading their area. Many died and many suffered, Hikari fought on in spite of her injuries.

Almost all hope of winning was about to be smashed when seraphic wings appeared in the sky. These wings brightened the whole area. It dispelled the darkness. And with the beautiful and strange seraphim came a group of fighters who had joined in to save the sacred realm of Tir nan Og. Many fairies were spared, including Hikari’s own mother.

Hikari couldn’t believe her eyes. She thought she was seeing a god. As they double their strength, Hikari regained her hope and swore to herself she would forever protect the seraph that saved them.*

  • *Hikari’s mother eagerly awaits her daughter’s arrival. She was worried for her since it had been long since she returned. She waited at the edge of the faery kingdom while enjoying all of nature’s beauty.*

*Hikari soon appears before her mother.* I’m here! *She smiles at her, kneels and takes her hand and kisses it. Then she moves forward and hugs her.* I’m glad everyone here is alright!
