((Excellent timing with the party stuff. School hitting a slow point for me))

The party still needed something. For such a competitive crowd, there had to be a game. A competition of some sort. Perhaps a classic would do. Properly upscaled to the players involved.

Several minutes of spellweaving later, there was a huge hammer game just in front of the dance floor. For the moment it was turned off, but he would activate it later and they would have a good laugh over who could get the ball up the highest.

Then Mike walked out in front of the party pavilion and clapped his hands, clothes flashing into a classier black and white suit, which looked quite secret agent-y when combined with his signature sunglasses.

The lights filtered through the branches of the tree pavilion and Mike did the voice augment-y thing again, yelling out to those hooligans who just smashed clean through a wall. “The party starts now! Come on, kids. It ain’t stoppin’ till dawn!”

Ash stared at felix, confused. Was he talking… backwards? The rocks dropped out of the air. “Uh. Hi.” Mike’s voice boomed through the school. “I’m gonna go… uh. Yeah.” Ash got up and headed out back, suppressing laughter at all the destruction around here. Superkid fights caused a lot of damage…

Party prep always took awhile. Mike had been out of the castle for a few days now pulling strings, which seemed a bit rude considering he had just arrived. But it was all for the kids. And now he was back.

Standing behind the school, he drew a wand that looked rather like a silver conductor’s baton out of the air, and began waving it about. Blue light streamed from the tip and formed runes, dozens of them, each streaming off to do its job. The earth crystallized beneath his feet and formed a dance floor. Balls of light hung in the air and pulsed different colors. Trees grew from the ground at an unnatural rate and their branches wove together to form a sort of pavilion behind the school.

Then the music. The balls of light began to release pulses of sound as well, a steady thump-thump-thump. Other orbs played violin sounds, or electric guitar, in something that seemed a strange combination of edm, pop rock, and classical.

Some of his contacts had provided food and drink. The buffet was well stocked, and as day turned to night, Mike nodded at his work. It was ready.

Ash, meanwhile, was simply practicing further in the war room. It wasn’t easy, but at least they could lift a stone fairly reliably. Ignoring the commotion and general fighting happening in the gym, Ash began lifting two… then three. The focus required was intense, but Ash was getting better. A faint green glow surrounded the stones, floating off the surface like mist.

((Welp we movin on I guess. Disregard the stuff about baylet and takra.))

“Welcome, Dova. By helping them out in a mostly meaningful way taking down my little challenge, you’ve won yourself a ticket to a party later tonight. You can probably bunk by yourself if you like, considering the size of the school. But hey, what does an old man like me know?” Mike chuckled to himself.

“Sorry, Tom. I gave em a chance. Looks like the answer is no. Ironic, considering the world-eater was the one that wanted a party in the first place. But Ash… Ash. Have I met this Ash yet? Not ringing any bells. Seems like if they cared about the party they’d be here like I asked. But I’m willing to give second chances. Oh!” Mike snapped his fingers. “That’s the one Godal is keeping an eye on. Godal, perhaps you’d like to-”

Just then, Ash burst in, holding a fragment of rock as big around as a head. “Guys, check it out! I’ve got the basics down!” The rock floated out of Ash’s hand, turned over a couple times, then floated a circle around Ash before returning to their hand. “I never actually… I mean… It’s the first time I’ve done it consciously.”

Mike raised an eyebrow at Godal, but he seemed to be distracted with his son-descendant-person. Family trees get confusing when you add immortality into the mix. Quite awhile since that squirt had been around. “Telekinesis. Not exactly rare. I wonder what Godal sees that’s so special in that kid?” Mike muttered under his breath.

((Ash is in the war room? Also I typed a rather long post out. Then accidentally deleted it. So this one is gonna be a bit more of a summary :P))

The dummy slipped on a patch of ice and fell backwards, particles of metal splattering into the air. The metal ignites, smallest bits first, then bigger ones, until the whole thing explodes violently despite its best efforts to reform. Even Mike has to call up a brilliant blue shield to mitigate the blast waves.

When the smoke clears, nothing remains of the dummy. Mike is clapping slowly. “Nice job, chuckleheads. You managed to work together. Tom especially. Good planning. You could make a fine leader.”

Then he cracked his neck. Alright. So, everyone who contributed. Let’s see. That’s… Tom, Miwa, Jerrel, and the new kid. Hey, kid. What’s your name? Congrats, you’re invited to a party.”

*Next part only happens if Baylet and Takra have made some attempt to do what Godal said and beat up the other thing while showing self control.*

“You two. You been doing what Godal said? Good. You didn’t have much of a chance to qualify for this party. So I’ll give you one. But it ain’t gonna be easy.” Mike grinned like a maniac. “The two of you are gonna have to work together like they all did. Cause even if you’re stronger than any of them, you’ve got quite the challenge. All you gotta do to make it into my super sweet rave fest is… Land a hit on me.” The grinning like a maniac continued. “And just to be fair, you can choose one other person from the winning group to help you. But you both gotta agree on who in the next 30 seconds (2 posts each for you two) or you’re goin’ it alone. Go.”

Mike laughed softly. “Hey, chucklehead. I know you just joined, so I’ll take it easy thus time. But this is a magic exercise. Punching ain’t gonna do nothing.” The gauntlets punched straight through the dummy, as if it was quite suddenly liquid, leaving it seemingly unharmed.

However, the dummy was too distracted by jerrel to do anything- until suddenly, Jerrel wasn’t there anymore. Only some grey kid. It turned and snap-punched the kid, knocking him clear out of the alchemy circle, though with minimal physical damage. A moment later, it was composed of liquid sodium metal instead of liquid silver. Strange, but seemingly not important to primary objective: attack.

The dummy turned toward the remainder of the group, with Jerrel in front, and began another assault- its whole body exploded into silver tendrils that shot at the small group of kids. Of course, they were blunt, and at worst would bruise, but it still looked very threatening.

Mike grinned at godal as he moved his fingers rather like a puppet master. “Quite the talented group you have, Godal. And they’re naturals at teamwork, eh?”

Meanwhile, Ash had heard the call to the gym, but didn’t feel like it would be particularly productive. At the very least they needed to be able to use the power at will most of the time. For that purpose, Ash had a rock. Concentrating very hard, Ash made the rock float. It was slow going, and the rock tended to fall a lot, but there was progress.

Mike scratched his head and raised a hand, just as the explosion detonated on the surface of the metal man. The man paused, explosion in midair, as if he had hit the pause key on a universal remote. “Alright. Fighting each other right now isn’t gonna help anyone learn. I may not be as experienced in teaching as your principal, but I know this much. You guys aren’t gonna learn anything if you don’t listen to someone. Now, I’m here to help him out, not seize power. So if he says that you need to practice self control, humor him. Baylet and Takra, put a few rounds or slashes or whatever tickles your boat into the thing until he’s satisfied. And try to avoid outright defying him. Even if not for the fact that either of us could kill you faster than you could blink, we’re only trying to help you. At the very least try what we suggest before you return to your regularly scheduled teenage rebellion.”

“That said, Godal… I’m pretty sure pushing students’ buttons and slapping them when they say things you don’t like isn’t part of the usual teaching process. Maybe if you injured them less there would be less hostility between you? And keep in mind that Tom is using alchemy, not magic. I’m not as familiar with it, but I believe it requires more focus and self control than channeling of emotion.”

“Now, everyone who’s not Takra or Baylet for now. Resume.” The flames melted into the silver summon and molten metal ran down its arm, distracting it from Jerrel. (Punch no longer coming toward Jerrel.) It turned and stretched a hand out, molten steel flowing off its hand and flying toward Tom in long spikes.

“Sounds like enough magical power for me. But keeping a dummy in one piece sounds like no fun at all. Perhaps something more interactive. I haven’t summoned in a long while.” Michael walked out the office and yelled out, his voice magically echoing from every wall in the school. “To the gym, chuckleheads! Time for a bit of training!”

~In the gym cause this would be awfully short otherwise~

“Now. Tom, as the only one without any magical experience, I’m going to ask you to put a bit of your theory to practice.” Stretching a finger out, Michael traced a simple alchemical circle on the floor.

“Alright. There are seven stages in the alchemy I’m familiar with; granted, every alchemy teacher is a bit different, but bear with me. The rest of you may find this interesting too. There’s blackening, whitening, greening, cycling, another whitening, then reddening, and transmuting. The cycle symbolizes death, then rebirth, and a discovery of purpose. I tell you these things because, even though you probably already know them, it’s important to keep the philosophy in mind when actually attempting a transmutation. You aren’t simply creating a flame; you’re destroying the air, taking it to its base components, then kindling those components into fire. It dies, and lives again by another name. That’s what I want you to do now. Feel free to practice a bit before jumping in the fray.”

“The rest of you! Thank you for your patience. Your objective is to defeat a dummy I will provide. This dummy will move. This dummy will block. Most importantly, this dummy is COMPLETELY IMMUNE TO ALL PHYSICAL ATTACKS. Even if you find a loophole around that, which I know you creative kids could probably do, remember that I’m controlling this thing and could heal it all I wanted to. The objective is to take it down. Plain and simple. But to make things interesting, I’ll thrown in an incentive. Everyone who participates in the takedown of my dummy in a meaningful way will be allowed to attend a party funded entirely by me. Fail, and hey. Godal and I can party it up all by ourselves. But the more, the merrier.”

Michael took a deep breath. Finally getting into the swing of things. It felt strange. Once, he had been taught magic. It was a strange experience. Now he was teaching it himself. It was unnerving. “Are you ready?” Ha, trick question. “Go!” Clapping his hands together powerfully, his eyes glowed silver (which was barely visible behind his shades) and energy flowed from between his palms. The energy coalesced into a metallic silver sphere, which then flowed like liquid steel into the shape of a human. Its head snapped to Jerrel and it dashed toward him at high speed, throwing a punch at his gut that would feel like a fist of steel.

((Do not autohit the dummy. Autohits will be ignored and autoblocked/dodged. Use terms like ‘fired a spell at him’, not ‘hit him with a fire spell’ if you want to attack.))

Michael made a mental note of most of the students, but figured he’d learn as he went. “Ha, if they had either of our masters most of these kids would be dead in a week.”

“Well then. Jerrel, Thomas, allow me to introduce myself. Michael Ken. Part time guardian of the universe. I’ll be helping out at the school from now on. Perhaps putting more focus in magic and less physical abilities, since I’m sure Godal has beaten you all into the ground physically enough times by now.”

Michael stepped around the students and into the hallway. “So! I’m itching for some action. Godal, what do you have them up to? Anything in particular? Or shall I start something? Most of them seem to be wandering the campus…”

Michael shook his head. “Only you would keep a wolf with a sword in your office, Godal. Only you.” He shook his head teasingly, grinning. “So. I was looking for something to do. Nothing seems to be taking over the universe at the moment. Any chance you need an extra hand? I’m sure there are a few tricks I could teach that you never fully mastered.” With that, he casually tossed his sword at Tom, point first. The blade shone brightly, as if catching the reflection of the sun, and vanished an inch from Tom’s face. He flicked his other hand out, and the black mist flowed off his fingertips, forming intricate designs in the air as it faded.

“Besides, with this many kids running about with such an unusual amount of power for their age, I’m surprised they haven’t blown up the school yet.”

Ash, meanwhile had snuck away to the war room, avoiding the newcomer for now. Though… was someone in here? “Um… Takra? You here? I just wanted to… ya know. Practice.”

“Ha, always up for a fight, aren’t you?” Mike ducked under the swing and dropped into a roll, coming up behind Godal as he summoned a brilliant white blade of his own, quite a bit smaller but glowing with energy. His other hand began swirling with a black mist. Mike brought the blade up defensively, expecting a quick second attack from Godal within the second.

And here was the old friend, right on time. Michael Ken arrived with a bang, as he often did. A black and white streak fell from the sky, striking the ground in front of the school’s entrance. When the dust cleared, a man was on one knee, a hand sweeping through the air to ward off the excess dust and energy.

Rising, he turned and looked up at the figures he’d narrowly missed as he fell. Two of them, midair and suspended by a tornado. Wind powers? Sweet.

Mike took a quick stroll through the school, looking around at the various amenities. Combat area, gymnasium, sleeping quarters… ah, the office. “Godal! Ahaha, how’s the professor life treating you?”

    Name: Michael Ken

Age: *chuckles softly* Old enough, kid.

    Grade: Teacher

    Gender: Male.

Appearance: Michael- or Mike, he doesn’t mind that- appears to be in his mid forties. A lean, muscled man with quite a bit of scruff. He often wears sunglasses around, and wears a pair of black pants and a white button up shirt. His eyes are a brilliant blue, which is part of why he wears the sunglasses all the time- they’re simply too distracting. His hair is black with streaks of grey.

Think Auron for body type and face only. Switch all the clothes and the weapon.

Gift or Talent: Like Godal, Mike has years and years of combat experience on his side. Though not as physically strong, Michael is probably faster, and equally skilled in swordplay if not more so. He also has an intense gift for light and darkness magic, which manifests in anything from beams of light to shadow clones. If things get serious, he can use this magic to further enhance his already considerable strength and speed to godlike levels.

Backstory: At a young age, Michael was chosen by a guardian of the universe- a creature that watched over the delicate balance between light and darkness. This spirit had been struck down in battle, and possessed him for awhile, transferring all its knowledge and experience before accepting its death. Michael went on a short adventure that crossed several universes, learning his place and growing accustomed to his new role. Though his adventures were many, and the wars he fought in were glorious, they would take far too much time to describe here.

Now, things are at peace for the moment. Thousands of years old and looking to raise a new generation, he accepts a call from an old war friend to come raise a new generation of heroes.

Goals: To help the kids in the school realize their full potential.

    Good or evil: Good

    Live in the school: yes

Other: Pretty friendly guy! In contrast to the hot-tempered Godal, Michael prefers to slow down and make friends with the kids, like that weird high school guidance counselor. He takes challenges seriously, but he’s also determined to teach the kids a thing or two.

“Portable. I’m looking for a way to see from multiple perspectives at once. What I had in mind was glasses based. A screen on a pair of glasses, or some other sort of visor. I’d prefer movable cameras, but I’m willing to bet the city has enough surveillance themselves. Hacking into that network could be sufficient if you’re not up for the complexity involved in some sort of drone or robot system.”

Lucas left a pause, letting the general idea sink in. “But then, you’re the expert, aren’t you? I think you understand what I’m looking for. If you can think of a better way, I’m all ears.”

“Um. No, no other questions.” Ash turned to leave quite quickly, then turned back. “Oh, wait… actually… if I wanted to try to practice maybe. Where could I do so with the smallest possible chance of blowing up the school? The war room?”

“A trip to the woods sounds lovely, though forgive me if I’m a bit suspicious of it. It sounds rather sketchy. Perhaps another student could come along. Until then, I want to try to learn my gift here. I didn’t come to have it removed. I’ve finally come to terms with it. So… A month. I’ll try to keep it under control until then.” Ash raised a hand and tried to move something. Maybe something small-

And then Baylet. Holy fudge that girl was obnoxious. The door slammed open and Ash whirled around, eyes wide. There was a visible pulse in the air and baylet was promptly ejected from the office and sent flying down the hallway.

Ash spun back to Godal. “Any really fast advice about controlling it before she kills me?”
