The timer runs out, blowing up the central square, but most people have escaped.
-
The ships take off, and a sudden beeping noise goes off as an explosive device emerges from the massive central gala cake, reading only 5 minutes.

Midzog stares at Jack and yells to him. “Neither of us are meant to die today, and neither of us can kill the other! Ozymandias is playing a far bigger game than that! So why don’t you just leave! You already lost this battle, cut your losses. I’ll even let you take the adults; they aren’t my problem now that I have control of their financial empires. But their children are mine. Deal?” Midzog begins backing towards the ships hovering outside the balcony, rounding up his soldiers and the children. He pushes away the woman, shoots Jack in the head knowing it won’t kill him, and boards the ship.

“Katherine, thank you. Sit down. I don’t know much about any of you. Tell me about yourself. And I know, Jack and Kika aren’t the most likely of matches, but I have hope. We will find out when they return.”
-
A slight dinging noise comes through, and CAL adds, “You have been given new, more direct orders, if you will accept them. Report back to the Keeper’s base, and accompany Jack. For now, assist him. He cannot do much damage. We almost have the funds. What is your response?”
-
A voice comes in on only Kika’s earpiece, an automated voice. “I am CAL, the OGA’s communication AI, and I have been informed that you are violating orders. Ozymandias is extremely dissapointed. Your passion for this initiative has clouded your vision, and you have failed to show any measure of self-control in the completion of your mission. You were to leave the Keepers when he authorized, and only then. I am authorized to remove you from the OGA, and to place a bounty on your head; you have been deemed dangerous. What is your response? Would you like to file a complaint?”

Midzog wheels around. “Jack! My failed experiment! The prodigal son!” Midzog grabs a random woman from the crowd, and uses her as a shield, putting a gun to her head.
-
Midzog whispers to a small group of soldiers. “Take the children. They will serve excellently for my experiments. If any parent tries to save them, shoot the child. And bring in the ships. We will need to bring these people to the mining colony on Pandarus-1.” The lead soldier nods, and brings a small batallion to carry out the orders.

A scared young man steps forward, the first in line. Midzog says to him, “Dont be afraid, my boy. Come closer.” Midzog puts the gun to the back of the man’s head. “You just need to type in your bank and stock codes. They will then be transferred to us. Just a few numbers and letters. Do it. Now.” The man hesitates, about to say ‘No’, when Midzog shoots him in the back of the head. He yells. “Next in line! I’m very impatient, so don’t keep me waiting. Don’t resist! This man was an example, and don’t give me the pleasure of making one of you another one.” The line creeps forward, as people type in their personal information.

(I’ll be playing in a sort of third person story mode for now with this.)
A loud screeching noise suddenly blares out momentarily on all the speakers in the hall, including Jack and Kika’s ear pieces, and cuts off the music. Then, a voice comes over the speakers, as Midzog waltzes onto the stage, accompanied by several soldiers who surround the party-goers. ”Well, I hope that you all have been enjoying yourselves this evening,” Midzog says into the microphone. ”All of you are here for a very important reason: money. Well, resources. Bravo! Your companies are booming! But unfortunately, we need those resources. Your money.” Midzog hops down from the stage. “Your technology and weapons.” Midzog pulls out a gun. “And those superior brains of yours.” Midzog shoots a nearby person directly point blank in the head. “Or else we’ll be painting the walls with them. Now don’t try to run away. My men are ordered to kill at the slightest disturbance, and we don’t want to scare the children. It’s your choice though. Join us and give us control of your corporations. Or die. Line up.” Midzog pulls out an electronic tablet and places it on a table.

“I’m sure that can handle this… But this is interesting. Quite a few high-profile economists, investors, and CEO’s… Wait.” Odysseus pulls out an identical invitation from one of his pockets. “They’re trying to get all the richest and smartest individuals in the quadrant in one room… Together. What’s their angle?”
-
Odysseus pulls out a small tablet from one of his exo-suit plates. “Let’s see if I cant… Track their hyper trail.” Odysseus begins rapidly punching in numbers. “Let’s see. Ok, three ships through the system in that last five hours. Two going to promising locations: an OGA controlled mining colony and … Chiron-5 is normally peaceful, but there was information regarding an illegally funded gala. GAL, get me info regarding who is invited.” Another feminine voice pipes through the suit monitor, that of GAL. ‘Definitely, sir. And sir, SAL has been sulking again.’ “Tell him I’ll let him analyze the atmospheric weaknesses of a pulsar ring. That’ll cheer him up. And keep up the good work.” ‘Yes, sir. Here is the guest list.’ “Thank you.” Odysseus quickly scrolls through the profiles.

“Thank you, Rose. I appear to be fine, I just… Can’t exactly remember what happened.” Odysseus tries to get out of bed, but stumbles a bit. “I think it’s best if I rest a while longer. Do you have any idea where Jack and Kika were going?”
