((Fine. Sorry. But can we after your Mars mission? It will infinitely cut out extraneous plot points.))

Chapter 2.5: Elegy
Previously on: THE KEEPERS Our heroes have gone their separate ways, as the Universe seems in infinitely more peril than ever! A spy lies in the midst of the remaining Keepers, while Rose/Katherine, Malice, and Heiklm attempt to work as a new group of vigilantes. Ozymandias, manipulating Odysseus and working silently against his plans, now sets a dangerous and deadly game in motion.
Four months pass…
Distress signals have flown past the Keepers current base by the thousands, and there are too many for the team to decide to pursue. Jack has been lost in a drunken haze, a recluse cut off from the world, while Kika and Apollo wait for him to return to reality. The other group struggles on an outlying world, as the OGA forces stream down from above.
War has begun…
-
Odysseus sits silently in his ship’s cockpit, a single tear rolling down his cheek. He whispers to himself, away from the holographic monitor. ”Good-bye, Jack. Good luck.”
-
“Malice, Heiklm, Rose. What do you say we get the children home? And how would you like to join me in making preparations to defeat the OGA?”
-
Edit: The holographic display quickly follows Malice, Rose, and Heiklm through the portal that they used to travel to the children.
-
Odysseus’ hologram rolls away, following Malice and Rose’s trail until he finally meets them. ”Hello. I’m sorry that this happened.”
-
Another hologram device rolls in, and Odysseus becomes projected again. “I always keep around a spare. Do you see what I’m talking about? Yes, people died. We lost Shavari, and Seth, and more people than I care to count. But you know what? More people are going to die, unless you learn to trust again. That’s what sets us apart from the enemy. Ozymandias and Midzog think that they have the right to play judge, jury, and executioner. They’re wrong. But don’t you dare act like them, do you understand? You are not the judge of a species, or even a person! I need your help, Jack. And you need theirs. Malice, Rose, and Katherine. Three more people, well, two. But two that can make such an important difference. If we lose them now, then we lose everything. Haven’t you lost enough Jack? Hasn’t Apollo?”
-
“Damn it, Jack! What the hell is the matter with you?!” Odysseus’ hologram shouts, following behind him. “We need allies! You can’t push people away! You may have founded this team, but right now, you’re the one screwing it up! We don’t have time for infighting! We literally don’t! The OGA is advancing exponentially, and they are producing countless ships with their new resources! I should never have come back, but I cared about you. Fundamentally, the Keepers aren’t worth my time! You’re making it a joke! You know why? Because it’s personal! You’re going to get yourself killed!”
-
Odysseus appears in the hallway as a shimmering blue hallway. “I leave for 20 minutes, and all hell breaks loose. Seemingly literally.” Another figure emerges besides Odysseus, in a flash of purple… The Aetheress. She shouts at Jack in a booming voice. ‘Jack, you must apologize to Malice! Those dolls she has… They are quite unique, and partially of my own doing. An experiment was undertaken. Daomer children were captured. They were found to have a trace of innocence in them, and they are sanctioned by me. I helped raise them, and they were passed onto Malice.’

A third and fourth card slide out of the sphere. One depicts an image of dusk, the setting sun. The other depicts a crying face.
-
Odysseus’ pocket watch begins to buzz. “I’ve outstayed my welcome here for now. This is my ride. Farewell, my friends. I have a great deal of business to attend to.” Odysseus dissapears in a shimmer of blue light, as he is beamed to a ship in orbit.
-
“No need to thank me. We are supposed to be better than the OGA, but Jack just acted like he would fit perfectly into their ranks, acting like he knows what is best for the Universe and everyone in it… Dissapointing. But he’ll learn.”
-
Odysseus walks in after a while. ”Don’t worry, Malice. Your companions can stay here. Jack has just had unfortunate experiences with their kind. It’s prejudice, something which the Keepers does not normally tolerate in its code of conduct. I’ll speak to him.”
-
Another tarot card pops out of the sphere, depicting Janus… The two-faced god.
-
Ozymandias’ eyes turn to their original hue, leaving Ody. “Oh, hello Kika. What was I going to discuss with you? I forgot. We must go to the others.” Odysseus gets out of bed, puts on his coat, and steps into the hallway.
