    Night Watch, definetly Night Watch!
Watched the movie on a trainride. After a few scenes, I threw up in the trashcan… Ok that wasn’t exclusively the movie’s fault. The cheap “asian” food wasn’t such a good idea too.
I devoured the Watch books by Sergej Lukianenko and the movie was…. I wanna get a big chinese gong, that rings “faaaaaail” when you hit it…

@Max: I get what you mean. I only saw the Eragon movie partially and no, just no.

I guess my fave series are the “Watch” books by Sergej Lukianenko. Night Watch, Day Watch, Twilight Watch, Final Watch and New Watch.

Witches, Vampires, Demons, Mages and all the other mythological creatures exist amongst humans, as a hidden society, devided in light and dark. For a long time, a great war raged between both sides, untill they nearly extincted themselves.

To prevent that, a great pact was made, binding all light and dark “others” to a solid set of rules.
Two major organisations, the Night Watch and the Day Watch have an eye on every registred other. Light others keep an eye on dark others at night and dark others observe light others at daytime.

What I like especially is the way it’s written. At least in the German translation, you actualy notice that the life of the characters isn’t candy, that the world IS messed up and that the status quo sucks badly but still is the best they got.
