Caligula scratched his beard, “Ah, a hardcore skeptic then, I see.” He said with a nod, “It certainly is a pragmatic way to live life, but I don’t think the world is free of nuance.” He pushed up his glasses with a soft chuckle, “If that was the case, I’d probably be out of a job after a while, so I guess I don’t really have much of a choice than…[Read more]

“Wow I guess hell really does work out its workers. Sounds like a really hard and stressful career to be in, I don’t think I can ever deal with what you must go through.” Astelis says cheerfully. “My job is pure black and white. Facts are facts unless something new comes in to disprove it. It keeps me quite entertained with all the new information…[Read more]

Caligula sighed, “If we’re being frank, I haven’t read the whole thing to date.” He ran a hand through his hair, “The entire process was hell and I know that made it reflect my emotion more than I originally intended.” He explained, putting his hands in his pockets and letting his shoulders hunch forward in an expression of melancholy, “I believe…[Read more]

“Must be a very good book for you to work so hard on it, perhaps if you ever have a copy of it I’ll take some time to read it. It’s been so long since I’ve had the chance to read something that wasn’t a file.” Astelis says trying to think back to the last time he actually read something non-work related.

Caligula nodded sympathetically to Astelis’ story, “It worked out in almost the same way for me.” He said, pushing himself out from the wall, beginning to walk back toward the house, “Prior to this, was working intensely on the longest novel in my career… I won’t bore you with the details, but it was fairly intense work that wore me down.” His…[Read more]

“Aww the human world sounds so disappointing. I thought it would have been at least a bit more different than Heaven but I guess not.” Celest says with a sigh as she leaned on a nearby wall.
“Sounds like an interesting life. He must have really been an amazing person for you to want to serve him and I’m sure you’re very skilled with a sword if…[Read more]

Aureolin paused for a moment, hesitating to speak about her own life. “As for my time as a housemaid…well, I..served as the sole housemaid to an infamous master swordsman better known as the Beast of Blades. As a warrior, he was unparalled and undefeated. As a person, he was…unusual. He lived to fight, but would not fight just anyone. Only…[Read more]

Aureolin thought for a second about how to answer Celest. “Living as a human isn’t drastically different from being an angel. Humans see Heaven as the perfect post-death paradise, but I think it is more like the better sequel to life on Earth. Wars that plague Heaven and Hell have even greater reach in the human world, as fighting continues…[Read more]

“My job rarely focuses on a straight exact routine, things are always bound to change for good or for the worst but that is why I love it so much.” he says smiling a bit. “Unfortunately I have been at work for far too long. A lot of my coworkers and friends have been concerned about my devotion to work and recommended being here for a change of…[Read more]

Caligula chuckles at the disgust in Astelis’ voice, his tail swishing in amusement, “Years ago, I might’ve said the exact same thing,” he said in a kindly voice, “At times, even I hate my routine, but I believe for the most part they’re built from necessity. After a while it sort of grows on you.” He scratches the stubble on his jaw, “‘Stockholm…[Read more]

Astelis looks at Caligula “I’m not too much of a fan of chaos but I do like it when it shakes things up a bit, it helps break away from the daily routine and work. Hive minds on the other hand are a bit too boring to me. All that consistency will probably drive me insane.” he says slightly disgusted of the thought of doing the same exact thing everyday.

Caligula shrugged, “I’m not one for chaos.” He said, putting his hands in his blazer pockets, “For more years than I bother to remember, I’ve lived in the same routine. Chaos and variability causes a hassle, it takes time and causes delay.” He explained, “I suppose it’s a little contradictory for someone of my profession, but in a way, a hive-mind…[Read more]

“A housemaid huh? Sounds interesting, how was life as a housemaid? Actually how was it like to live in the human world in general?” Celest asks curiously wanting to learn more.

“So hive minds are perfect societies to you then, I can understand why you would think that. They have such an amazing system of order and doing things. However all that…[Read more]

Caligula tapped the ash of the end of his cigarette and exhaled the smoke in his lungs with a sigh, “I know, any species capable of independent thought will create variable personalities.” He leaned his head against the wall and dropped the cigarette butt on the ground, snubbing it out with the heel of his shoe, “I like to think that’s why ants…[Read more]

“Ah, thank you.” Aureolin said, laying the harp in her lap. “I think I learned as a child, because I’ve known how to play this for as long as I can remember. During my time as a housemaid, I played for my lord rather often.  But during my service in the Angel Army prevented me from playing at the time.”

Celest listens to Aureolin play her harp, “Your pretty good at playing. In fact it doesn’t sound off key at all!” she says cheerfully. “How did you learn how to play it? It’s my first time seeing someone actually play an instrument so I’m pretty interested.

“I see. That’s understandable being accurate is always better than having the possibility of inaccuracies however I’m not sure how much of observing angels will actually help we are all pretty basic and act like any other person would, I can say for sure myself that I have seen plenty of average angels in my days and occasionally when I take a…[Read more]

“Oh, alright. I’ll admit that was a huge leap.” Aureolin said, before taking a seat in one of the rooms. “I’m going to relax for the remainder of this day, and now that I have the time to, I can even play my harp.” She then reached into her satchel and pulled from it a bow harp, and began tuning it. “Bear with me. I’m rusty, so it’ll probably…[Read more]

Caligula nodded, “Demons are stereotypically stubborn because more often than not they really are.” He said with a sigh, “I prefer to be as accurate as possible with my novels, it’s especially important for a piece like this. I’m somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to my work so I prefer to do my own research anyway.” He said, taking a long…[Read more]
