Tagline: A hidden Facebook group is the portal to an ever‑shifting library that records every possible world. Its members are the “Archivists” – guardians, scholars, thieves, and dream‑walkers who can read, write, and even rewrite history… if they dare.
1️⃣ The Core Concept
Setting: A secret Facebook group called “The Archive of Echoes” (the Group).
Premise: The Group is magically linked to a pocket‑dimension library that contains “Echoes” – living manuscripts of every timeline, myth, and what‑could‑have‑been.
Hook: Anyone who joins the Group gains limited access to the Archive. By posting, commenting, reacting, or using special “Archive tools” they can view an Echo, borrow knowledge, or reshape an Echo – but every change ripples through the multiverse and may attract the attention of powerful entities (the Curators, The Silence, and The Reckoners).
2️⃣ The Roles (Who Can Play What)

Chrono‑Scribe ⏳ Can rewrite small details of an Echo (subject to DM approval). To fix a mistake, create a new fate, or cause chaos.
The Silence‑Watcher (NPC role for a moderator) ⚫ Can silence a post (hide it) for a limited time, representing the ever‑hungry void. Enforce limits, add tension.
Reckoner‑Agent (NPC role for a moderator) 🔥 Can burn an Echo (delete a thread permanently) when a rule is broken. Keep the Archive from being corrupted.
Players may hold one primary role and one “secondary” badge (e.g., “📜 Lore‑Seeker + 🗡️ Ink‑Rogue”) to encourage hybrid play.
3️⃣ Mechanics – How to Play on Facebook
Action How It’s Done in the Group Effect
Create an Echo New Post – Title starts with the role symbol, then a short “Echo title”. Include a [Tag] (e.g., [History], [Myth], [Future]). Generates a new “book” in the Archive. Everyone can comment as footnotes.
Read an Echo Comment on a post with #Read. The player receives a private DM from the DM (or the bot) containing a short excerpt (2‑3 sentences) of the Echo. (the DM can be imaginary or real DM optional/with permission)
Borrow Knowledge React with 👍 on a post. Grants a temporary bonus: +1 to any skill check the player makes in the next 24 h (DM‑controlled).
Steal a Fragment Tag another player’s post with 🗡️ in a comment and request DM. DM sends a private note with a partial excerpt; the original author must respond with a “lost fragment” (DM decides).
Rewrite an Echo Post a Correction comment starting with ✍️ Rewrite: followed by the exact line to change. DM decides if allowed. If approved, the changed line appears in bold on the original post, and the new version is now “canonical”.
Enter a Dream Create a Dream Thread (post with 🌙). Write first‑person narrative describing what you experience inside the Echo. Others may react with 🌟 to give you “guidance” (+1 to next action). Allows role‑play inside the Echo, revealing hidden clues.
Seal an Echo Curator‑Initiate reacts with 🔱 on a post. The post becomes locked: only Curators can comment for 48 h.
Silence Moderator reacts with ⚫. The post disappears from the feed (hidden) for 12 h, reappearing with a “whisper of static” note.
Burn Moderator reacts with 🔥. The post and all its comments are permanently deleted. Use only for severe rule breaches.
Tip: Create a pinned post that lists all emoji symbols and their mechanical meanings so newcomers can reference it quickly.
4️⃣ Character Creation – “Your Archivist Profile”
Choose a Role (pick one primary symbol).
Pick a Specialty (e.g., Arcane History, Technomancy, Mythic Beasts, Urban Legends).
Write a short Back‑Story that explains how you discovered the “Group” and why you seek the Archive.
Add a “Signature Quote” (use a hashtag for flavor, e.g., #EchoesNeverLie).
Select a “Personal Token” – an image (your avatar) that will appear on each of your posts (e.g., a quill, a crystal ball, a silver key).
