This may run a little long, so bear with me.
This RP takes place in ancient China. The theme of this is to sort of capture the feeling of a sort of epic tale or legend. You can be a human or an animal, demon or whatever, as long as it’s based in Chinese mythology. If you want to make some original creature thing, run it by me first so I can confirm that it fits with the theme please? Also, if you can, it would be cool to cite whatever legend your character is based off of or inspired by, but then again that’s optional. As usual, use the character template and if there’s anything you want to add or remove so it works better for your character, go ahead. The baseline of the story is a traveling adventure through China, although if you have another idea that would go with your character, free to shift the plot in that direction. Also!! As usual try to balance characters with each other so we can have good dynamics!! If you have any questions DM me or ask them in this forum or whatever!!

    Extra (Optional):

    Name: Bai Longma

    Type: Dragon

    Inspiration: Journey to the west

Appearance: His natural appearance is a large, slim, snakelike dragon with velvety antlers and snow white scales throughout his entire body, save for a black mark on his forehead reminiscent of the yin segment of a yinyang. He generally takes on a human form where he wears a straw hat on top of his long white hair, usually tied back in a knot or a ponytail. He generally wears traditional, flowy robes, kind of fancy but not super expensive. He’s tall with a slim yet muscular body and pale skin, thin, dark eyes and fine facial features. He carries a sword made with white metal that shimmers iridescently like mother-of-pearl.

Abilities: In dragon form, he can fly and carry people, but otherwise doesn’t have anything much. In human form, he’s skilled with his sword and has slightly increased speed and strength as well.

Personality: He’s not particularly talkative and usually comes across as aloof and somewhat emotionless, however simply isn’t very used to talking with most humans. He’s quite book-smart, knowing a lot about the world in general, however is fairly bad at applying this knowledge and usually comes across as rather weird and alien, however once given a chance, he can be pretty nice. He has a habit of becoming protective of the people he’s attached himself to, however other than in defense, he has a dislike for violence.

Bio: Bai Longma, White Dragon-horse, second son of Yu Long, was in the past exiled for sinning by indulging in hedonism. As punishment, he was sent to serve the monkey king, Sun Wukong. His role wasn’t glamorous, he simply became the steed of Sun Wukong and on occasion fought to protect him. This job succeeded well in humbling him, in the end causing him to embrace the philosophies of Zen. After finishing his punishment, he returned to heaven, but still, his father continued disowning him and his brother somehow grew to hate him. Surprisingly, he didn’t actually mind, in the end it was almost a relief. He returned to China, seeking a new master to serve to give himself purpose and continue his studies of Zen and humaity.

Extra: The easiest way to his heart is Lychee berries.

So he decided to take a look. The villagers chased him off. He was confused but didn’t blame them. Instead he began to study them from a distance. He began to learn their habits and speech. Eventually he learned how to turn into one. When he was able to turn into one he took the name of Yi(shifter). He went into a village and made friends fairly fast with all of them. He loved it there so much. That was until the plague hit. Over half the village died and the remaining ones started to blame him saying that he had brought the plague with him. Seeing that he wasn’t wanted anymore he left. Ever since then he has been alone. If he meets a human on his travels he is pleased but doesn’t stay around them for long.

Extra: Best way to get his attention for get him to stop talking with either with something shiny or a string.
