Rask Farcry examines you, and every other new crewman, as you stand on the deck of The Samrodock. The Charr’s sharp gaze takes in every twitch, every flick of the eye. He steps close, his wicked teeth inches from your face. You gulp, but gaze at the graying Captain defiantly. Rask blinks as he sees your sudden change in expression and pulls back laughing.”Well, what have we here,” he says. “One with a little fire. We could use that! But…”Rask peers at you, his emerald green eyes glittering.”You have to be willing to take orders. I consider myself fairly easy going, but I DO NOT take any lip. Do I make myself clear?”These last words were said with a growl. As you nod, Rask grins once more.”Good! Now then, let me get you acquainted with our cargo.”The Charr makes his way across the deck towards the cargo hold. As he passes a doorway, a large Arctic Wolf appears from the darkness to greet him. Rask stops to put a paw on the beasts head, and turns to address you.”This is Tashir. He protects the cargo from any that may wish to… tamper… with it. That includes young guppies with no sea legs.”The look the old Charr shoots you makes you quake in your boots, but Rask pretends not to notice and beckons you to follow him once more. You step into a cramped hold, narrowly avoiding hitting your head on the low beams supporting the deck above. Goods are stacked neatly, organized by destination. You see food, cloth, tools, and chests of metals and gems, each bound for distant port cities. As you proceed deeper into the hold, a musky smell awithssails you. You turn to ask the Captain what the smell could be, but before you can speak, you hear a series of chirps and roars. Stepping deeper into the hold, you notice large cages lining the inner hull walls. The cages hold a number of animals, each as fantastic as the last .”Look well. This is some of our most precious cargo. Collected them myself. Do well, and you may find yourself going with me on a hunt or two.”Rask grins as you whip around, jaw hanging open.”Questions?”

As you can probably tell, I’m a Guild Wars 2 roleplayer. The above blurb was from my recruitment thread on the Jade Sun Trading Company’s forum. Rask is the Captain of the Samrodock, the “flagship” of the Jade Suns Water Branch. The Samrodock transports everything from furs and cloth to gems and precious metals.
