The smile slowly drops off her face, “I see… if that’s how you’re going to be,” She draws the needle from her pocket, jabs the tip of it into the side of Cobalt’s neck and injects it’s contents into him, “I guess our little meeting is over.”

Mary grows tense, leaning away from Cobalt slightly, “I think that’s a bad idea…” She says as she slips her hand into her pocket, wrapping her fingers around the syringe of sedative contained within it, “I’m not going to tamper with your restraints, please just go back to your seat.” She gives him a forced smile.

Mary looks over at cobalt, then back to Akio, “If you get too physical maybe you’ll end up in a straight jacket, like him” She says as she leans back in her chair and nods her head toward Cobalt.

Mary backs up from Akio slightly, “It’s.. ok” She replies, a bit shaken, “You probably shouldn’t get physical with employees here though, its a pretty bad idea.” She walks back to her chair and sits down.

Mary’s eyes widen as she stumbles around Akio, “T-that’s nice, but could you please let go of me! I’m afraid I’m going to-” Before she can finish her sentence, she trips and falls toward the ground, gripping Akio’s arm tightly as she does.

Mary looks back at Akio, “What else was there?” She asks, leaning in toward him slightly.

Mary’s face turns bright red and her voice wavers, “O-oh… my apologies,” She says as she turns to Okarin, her embarrassment causing her posture to straighten, “It wont happen again.” She regains her composure.

Mary drags her chair a bit closer to Akio and Cobalt, “You guys seem really… unhappy.. about the way things have been going.” She says to them, leaning forward, “Perhaps there is something we can do to improve your stay here?”

Mary crosses their legs and looks at her clipboard, “Hmm…” She flips between the pages a few times, “I can see some similarity, maybe you’re on to something Doctor.” She says as she looks up and smiles at him.

Mary slowly turns to Okarin, “So, shall we get started?” She asks, as she pulls out her clipboard, “Also, can you tell me why we bought these two patients together out of all of the patients in the ward?” She glances at Cobalt then at Akio, observing them.

After a short walk down the hall Mary reaches the room, “Oh, you’ve already gotten here.” She says as she walks into the room, “I hope we didn’t keep you waiting long, Cobalt put up a bit of a fuss.” She says, dusting off a chair and sitting down.

Mary shoots Cobalt a puzzled look, “Well… ignore them I guess, We’re almost there.” She says as she turns around and walks down the hall again.

Mary goes on for a few yards before noticing Cobalt had stopped. She slows her pace to a halt then turns to face cobalt, “Cobalt? What are you looking at?” She asks as she walks toward him.

Mary slows down to think, “Hmm.. well.. I guess you’d stay in here for a long time if that happened, but I bet they’ll find something eventually.” She says as she reaches the top of the stairwell, “Our knowledge of the brain is improving every day.”

Mary stops walking abruptly, “Well.. I’m sure that they’ll find a way to treat you sometime soon…” Mary says, losing some confidence, “In fact, I took you out of your room in order for research to be done. You’ll be helping to find a treatment by coming with me!” She adds as she starts to walk again, confidence renewed.

Mary glances back at cobalt, “Quit being such a baby!” She says while climbing the stairs, “This is a short walk and you’re getting a nice steak dinner out of it too, the least you can do is be more positive.”

Mary turns back around and starts to walk up the stairs.

Mary looks back at Cobalt, “Come on, Cobalt. I really am sorry that I cant help you but you agreed to this, you’ll still get that steak dinner you want.”

Mary glances at the room numbers, “We should be pretty close, we just have to go to the third floor.” She says as she walks toward a staircase.

Mary stops for a second and strokes her chin in consideration, “Hmm… Nah!” she says, starting to walk again, “I cant do anything without permission, sorry.” She smiles at him.

“Wow..” Mary says, surprised, “They should really let you out more, at least in the straight jacket! You seem stable enough for that much.” she says with a hint of anger in her voice.

Mary notices how cobalt looks around, “How long have you been in that room?” She asks, looking over at him, “Seems like you’re very interested in the hallway.” She says, giggling a little.

Mary closes the door behind them and starts down the hall.

Mary considers Cobalt’s proposition for a moment, “Hmm.. sounds fair, now follow me.” Mary says as she turns to the door.

Mary tugs at his arm, “All you need to do is get up and walk to a different room, ok? Not so hard.”

Mary sighs and lowers the paper, “Oh come on Cobalt!” she says while shaking him gently, “What else are you going to do but lay around all day anyways?”

“We’re going to have a group therapy session,” Mary says as she shows Cobalt Akio’s document, “With him.” She points to the picture of Akio.

Mary opens the door, “Sorry to wake you so early,” she says, slowly approaching Cobalt,”but we have something for you to do.”

Mary glances at Cobalt’s paper again, making sure she knew the room number he was in. Once she had verified the number, she walked to Cobalt’s room. A few moments later she stood in front of the door to his room. She double checks the room number then knocks on the door, “Hello, Cobalt? Are you awake yet?”

Mary picks up the papers and quickly skims them,”Hmm… my choice?” she contemplates, narrowing her eyes in consideration, “I choose Cobalt,” She lays Akio’s paper back down on the desk, “He seems more… interesting!” She says as she back up at Okarin, smiling slightly.

Mary is the first nurse to arrive at the ward, as usual. After cheerfully greeting the receptionist, she heads into the locker room to change into her uniform.
