Emmalyn meets Nat’s eyes coolly, spinning the falme in and out between her fingers. She seemed calm, but she was mentally reprimanding herself for staring. All it did was raise suspicion.

“Screw this job… I just need to take my mind off things.” Emmalyn orders a soda, sitting in her chair tiredly. She looks around the crowded bar, her gaze settling on Natalie and Naoko. Boredly, she watches the silent interaction between the two while rolling a tiny blue flame around her fingers.

“I can’t just watch you get hurt!” She sherieks, frowning. “I can’t sit back and watch you die… Like all the others.”

“People are dying…” Emmaline quickly grabs weapons, shoving them hastily in a belt and strapping it on. “Now or never.” She runs out, flying shakily to the a few feet away from the fight and lighting her hands on fire. “how do I help…”

“I passed out in the snow… If the indent my body made counts, then yes.” She laughs slighly, her wings folding back up. “You’re the nicest people I’ve met so far.”

“Oh, hell…” Emmalyn pulls a glove over her hand, throwing on a jacket and following her targeted trail to a pub in Fairy Tail. “Wha-?” She pulls open the doors, making sure her glove was on tightly as she sits at the bar and waits for her target to show itself… Was it a fake job?

“Fuck…” Emmaline swears, looking at the screen. “What the hell is happening out there? People are dying!”

“Ew, get a room.” Emmaline covers her eyes childishly, grinning. “You look like a slimeball threw up on you, Dakota. Come on.” I pull him back to the training room, pulling Fallen with us.

“How does anyone not? They’re still speaking in English, so I don’t see the big deal!” Emmaline looks over, narrowing her eyes.

“Careful.” Emmaline puts out the flame, hugging Fallen back but all in the same barely reaching her shoulder. “We are such a dysfunctional family.” She chuckles, looking at the people in the room.

“Why are the dogs talking in English?” Emmaline giggles at the conversation, confused. “I didn’t know dogs did that.” She absently lights a little flame in her palm.

“Thank you. No one’s ever said that to me.” She hugs back without hesitation, holding Lucy to her. “Here. Let me help.” She wipes away some of the blood from Lucy’s face, wrapping her wings around the two of them. “Lucy, how old are you?” She asks gently, trying not to make her sad.

“Somehow, I don’t know which I prefer.” A sob bubbles up in Emmaline’s throat, choked back by laughter. “Even if it is a lucid dream, can’t people get trapped in those? Like, go into comas?”

“Nova?!” Emmaline yells, hearing noise in the training room. “Where were you?! You disappeared and I was stuck here, and…”
