“There’s always work to do…” Caligula muttered in response, biting the end of his pen for a second before suddenly snapping out of his thoughts, “A new one, eh? Welcome to our home.” he said, politely nodding to Astelis before standing up and glancing around, “Ah…? Where did the other one’s go…?” He murmured under his breath, only now present enough to realize that they left. He let out a gentle sigh and turned back to the angel, running a hand through his hair, “Come along, they’re probably around somewhere.” He flicked a cigarette out of the carton and placed it in his mouth, beginning to walk toward the center of the house.Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 4:26 am #126754
Astelis looks at Caligula, “Got lost in thought huh? Whatever you’re writing must be pretty interesting for you not to notice where the others went.” He says laughing to himself a bit. Looking over the house a bit Astelis gave a little smile, “Quite a cute home you all have made. Very impressive I gotta say”.Sunday, August 13, 2017 at 2:22 am #126765
Caligula gave a soft chuckle, “It’s always been both a strength and a weakness,” he replied, glancing at Astelis, “Can’t say it’s the most interesting thing, but I enjoy my work.” He said in reference to the notes he took earlier, offering Astelis a cigarette. He too glanced over the house, “I suppose it is rather cute. Can’t say I had any part to play in this. My sense of aesthetic is far less welcoming.”Sunday, August 13, 2017 at 2:49 am #126766
“Thank you!” Astelis says happily while accepting the cigarette, “I don’t think the others would appreciate us smoking inside so we should finish these out here. I am curious though what type of work do you do?” he says as he leans his body on the house a bit.Sunday, August 13, 2017 at 7:19 am #126768
Caligula nodded, following Astelis outside and lighting his cigarette before handing his lighter off to the angel. He took a deep inhale, eyes closed thoughtfully, contemplating his response, “Funny thing about that,” he replied, letting out the rest of the smoke with a sigh, “I came here with the intention of keeping that hidden, however it became apparent that keeping a consistent lie would become a hassle.” He took another drag of his cigarette, tapping the ash off the end, “On the other hand, telling the truth would be a hassle in its own right.” He sighed and leaned against the wall, scratching the back of his neck, “Someone will figure it out soon enough anyway…” He murmured before glancing back at Astelis, “I’m a novelist, right now I’ve been commissioned to write something of a propaganda piece, something to encourage demons to view angels more than enemies, sort of show them coexistence. I’m here on research.” As he spoke his tail wagged grumpily back and fourth, “I hate writing on commission… such a nuisance…” he grumbled, annoyed.Monday, August 14, 2017 at 4:35 am #126805
Astelis lit his cigarette before giving the lighter back to Caligula, he lets the cigarette lay on his mouth a bit before he inhales and exhales the smoke while paying close attention to Caligula. “Wow demons must have some extreme beliefs in angels for propaganda being needed for peace but I do have to say that propaganda is probably one of the most effective ways of manipulating the masses. Although I’m not sure on what type of research you can really collect on us angels we really don’t differ much from demons except in a physical sense.” Astelis replies before taking another inhaling the cigarette again.Monday, August 14, 2017 at 9:13 am #126808
Caligula nodded, “Demons are stereotypically stubborn because more often than not they really are.” He said with a sigh, “I prefer to be as accurate as possible with my novels, it’s especially important for a piece like this. I’m somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to my work so I prefer to do my own research anyway.” He said, taking a long drag of his cigarette, “And to be frank, I plan on dragging this out as something of a guilt-free vacation from deadlines.” He smiled dryly as he spoke.Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 1:41 am #126817
“Oh, alright. I’ll admit that was a huge leap.” Aureolin said, before taking a seat in one of the rooms. “I’m going to relax for the remainder of this day, and now that I have the time to, I can even play my harp.” She then reached into her satchel and pulled from it a bow harp, and began tuning it. “Bear with me. I’m rusty, so it’ll probably sound off-key.”
After she finished tuning, she slowly began plucking the harp’s strings, gradually picking up speed as she remebered how to play.Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 3:49 am #126818
“I see. That’s understandable being accurate is always better than having the possibility of inaccuracies however I’m not sure how much of observing angels will actually help we are all pretty basic and act like any other person would, I can say for sure myself that I have seen plenty of average angels in my days and occasionally when I take a break from work. Then again there are plenty of angels who are simply above the average expectations on how an angel should act.” Astelis says exhaling the smoke once more.Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 2:18 am #126876
Celest listens to Aureolin play her harp, “Your pretty good at playing. In fact it doesn’t sound off key at all!” she says cheerfully. “How did you learn how to play it? It’s my first time seeing someone actually play an instrument so I’m pretty interested.Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 4:29 am #127233
“Ah, thank you.” Aureolin said, laying the harp in her lap. “I think I learned as a child, because I’ve known how to play this for as long as I can remember. During my time as a housemaid, I played for my lord rather often. But during my service in the Angel Army prevented me from playing at the time.”Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 9:37 pm #127255
Caligula tapped the ash of the end of his cigarette and exhaled the smoke in his lungs with a sigh, “I know, any species capable of independent thought will create variable personalities.” He leaned his head against the wall and dropped the cigarette butt on the ground, snubbing it out with the heel of his shoe, “I like to think that’s why ants and bees are the only species with flawless societies…” He spoke to himself, absentmindedly scratching his beard, briefly forgetting Astellis’ existence as his brows furrowed in thought. He produced the notebook from his pocket, swiftly flipping to the back and scribbling halfway frantically in it, murmuring inaudibly to himself.Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 11:32 pm #127258
“A housemaid huh? Sounds interesting, how was life as a housemaid? Actually how was it like to live in the human world in general?” Celest asks curiously wanting to learn more.
“So hive minds are perfect societies to you then, I can understand why you would think that. They have such an amazing system of order and doing things. However all that order will become boring for beings like us who always end up creating chaos some way or another…” he says turning off his cigarette.Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 2:37 am #127267
Caligula shrugged, “I’m not one for chaos.” He said, putting his hands in his blazer pockets, “For more years than I bother to remember, I’ve lived in the same routine. Chaos and variability causes a hassle, it takes time and causes delay.” He explained, “I suppose it’s a little contradictory for someone of my profession, but in a way, a hive-mind would be more convenient”Friday, September 1, 2017 at 3:13 am #127293
Astelis looks at Caligula “I’m not too much of a fan of chaos but I do like it when it shakes things up a bit, it helps break away from the daily routine and work. Hive minds on the other hand are a bit too boring to me. All that consistency will probably drive me insane.” he says slightly disgusted of the thought of doing the same exact thing everyday.
