Seeing Nagisa in more of a positive mood, Koharu decided to act the same so he would stay that way for the train ride, at least. “That’s too bad you can’t take the train alone! Hey, if you ever want to go on it just call me or something, I would love to ride it with you!”

Nagisa nodded and gave a small smile, “I live in the dorms next to the university, so there should be trains running late.” he said, beginning to walk, seeming to become more energetic as he walked, “I really like taking the train, I’m not allowed to ride it alone so I don’t usually get to go.” he said happily.

Feeling almost a bit caught in his own thoughts, Koharu quickly snapped back to reality, giving Nagisa a nod. “Right, yes! The train, the train.”

Nagisa nodded and looked down for a moment, then looked back up at Koharu, holding his arm across his chest, “U-um, can we go home now?”

Koharu turns to Nagisa as he puts Fang’s phone back in his pocket. “Uh, Fang put his phone in my pocket and his Aunt called, I told her that he was at the hospital.” Koharu’s face reads in a concerned expression. “I never knew this day would be this crazy,” he laughs under his breath.

Nagisa jogs a couple steps to catch up to Koharu, “Eh? Did something happen?” he asked, gently grabbing the hem of his sleeve.

“Thank you I will be down there right away. Please stay there so I can get more information from you.” She says before hanging up.

Koharu quickly looks behind him and then at Nagisa. “It’s the North-East Hospital, the one really close to the train station.” He rubs his forehead, “I assure you, he’ll be okay. He was asleep when we left.” Koharu smiles, even though Fang’s aunt wasn’t able to see it.

There was silence for a while before she finally answers, “I’m Fang’s aunt. Now which hospital is he in.” She asks her voice shakey as it trying to stay calm.

Panicked, Koharu quickly answers, “Fang is in the hospital! I think he put his phone in my pocket when I left there.” He inhales deeply. “And who is this?”

A woman’s voice was on the other end sounding worried, “Where is Fang and why do you have his phone?”

As Koharu was about to respond to Nagisa, he hears his phone ring. He takes his phone out of his pocket and takes a look at the number, it being unfamiliar to him. He answers the phone. “Um…Hello? This is Koharu…” he says with immense confusion.

Phone rings in Koharu’s pocket it being Fangs. He having slipped it into his pocket at the hospital.

“A-ah… I couldn’t do that…” he held his arms across his chest and looked down with a slight timid smile, “She said I need to know how all the instruments work and the only way is to play them.” He glanced back up at Koharu, “She said if I don’t work hard then I’ll never become great.” He held his arms behind his back and smiled, “Although… Read more

Koharu pats Nagisa on the shoulder, “Dude, you should complain about that teacher? Why is she forcing you to do things anyway? If I was in that situation I would go and tell, if you want change so much, do it yourself or you won’t be able to get anywhere. You feel me?” he gives Nagisa a genuine smile that shows his teeth.

Nagisa shrugs, “Cello isn’t hard, it’s kinda like an oversized bass, just less cool and no fun.” His face takes on a slight scowl, “And me on a flute is like a…. it’s like… really bad.” He lets out a small sigh, unable to come up with a comparison.

Koharu raises his eyebrows. “Not such a great conductor if you ask me. Are you at least good at playing cello and flute?” he asks gingerly, tilting his head to the side a bit. “I heard cello is quite a hard instrument to play, same as flute. I don’t think I could ever play them. I tend to take the easier instruments.” Koharu lets out a chuckle.

Nagisa holds his arm across his chest, “She’s the orchestra conductor at the college.” He sighs slightly an lets his head fall backward, “She says I spend too much time on guitar and I have to either do something else or make friends so she makes me play cello…” He frowns slightly, still looking up to the sky, “And if I don’t she makes me… Read more

Koharu laughs under his breath. He puts his hands in his pockets and looks down. “So, who is this “Teacher” you speak of? You’ve mentioned them once or twice.” Koharu looks up at Nagisa with slight interest in his eyes.

Slowly, a slight smile begins to grow on Nagisa’s face. Koharu laughs again. “I’m glad that I was able to understand. It’s an interesting way of showing directions, but if you really think about it, it’s exactly like a map. Nagisa lifts his head a little, “Eh…?! You get it?” He begins to smile and his walk becomes slightly more confident, “People don’t usually get it.” He says, sounding almost exited and speeding up a little to walk in the same time as Koharu.

Koharu snickers at Nagisa’s way of directions. “Good thing I know how to read music or else I wouldn’t know what the hell you were talking about. We’re going to take the train to get to the shop, okay?” Koharu walks to the door, still chuckling.

Nagisa nods, “Um… it’s near the shop, but sort of down… kind of…” He murmured, putting his hands in his pockets, “It’s like 2 octaves down for 24 measures or so…” He says, his voice lowering as he talks.

“Thank God.” Koharu says under his breath. He looks up at Nagisa and smiles, “Do you know where she lives by any chance?” he taps his foot rapidly on the floor.

Nagisa begins to shake his head, then stops short, “Oh- Um… He lives wih his aunt, I think…” he says and awkwardly scratches his arm, “We should tell her, right?”

Koharu stands, looking at Fang and smiling softly. “We should get going. I’ll give the secretary my information so the hospital can call me back for news on Fang.” he turns his attention back to Nagisa. “Do you by any chance know any relatives of his so I can contact them and tell them what happened?” Koharu cocks his head to the side.

Nagisa strums the final chord and lets his had drop down, then takes the guitar off and puts it back in his case. He turns to look at Koharu, “Um… What are we supposed to do now?”

Fang smiles and his eyes slowly close as the drugs take affect causing him to fall asleep.

Nagisa nods slightly at Koharu and closes his eyes, beginning to sway slightly with the chords. His voice increases in volume but maintains the soft and gentle quality it had previously.

Fang listens to him play and smiles tiredly, laying his head down but watches Nagisa.

Koharu smiles as Nagisa plays. He finds himself sitting down while tapping his foot along to the beat. “Sing louder, Fang can’t hear you. There’s no need to be shy.” Koharu mentions quietly. “You have a beautiful voice..”

Nagisa nods, “Ah… yeah.” He quickly unzipped the guitar from the case on his back, produced a pick from his pocket and strummed a chord to hear the tuning. Because he didn’t have an amp, it produced a quiet, tinny, but not particularly unpleasant sound. He begins to strum it like a steel-string, playing some soft melancholy chords and a… Read more

Fang smiles a bit more, “C-could you play o-one of your p-pieces for m-me?

Nagisa comes out from behind Koharu a little and gives a quick nod, “I… Um… Yeah, I have it.”

Fang smiles weakly at them, “H-hey, I’m doing fine.” He looks to Nagisa. “Hey Nagisa d-do you have your guitar on you?”

Koharu looks at the nurse. “Thank you. I’m glad I got him here in time.” he passes a small chuckle. He walks over to Fang, still holding Nagisa. “Hey buddy,” he sincerely smiles. “Are you doing okay?” he slowly extends his hand and rests it on Fang’s arm.

Nagisa goes completely pale at the comment of death. He inches behind Koharu and waves timidly at Fang.

Nurse glances back at the as she leads them to one of the rooms at the end of the hall.

Fang lays in the bed with no shirt being bandaged from mid stomach to chest. Also having a few patches on his arms and one on his eye brow.

Nagisa nods slightly and squeezes Koharu’s sleeve a little tighter. His face goes slightly pale as they walk into the hospital. He moves a little closer to Koharu and tilts his head down and stared intently at the ground.

Koharu stands with Nagisa, keeping a gentle hold of him. He nods and follows the nurse. Koharu keeps a slightly tighter hold of Nagisa. “I know you don’t like this place, and that’s okay. We’ll be out in a flash, promise.” he smiles with his eyes, still keeping a stiff face.
